Billionaire Investor Explains Why Bitcoin Price Will Hit $250,000 by 2022

Billionaire venture capitalist and investor Tim Draper has long been one of cryptocurrency’s biggest bulls, and that has not changed during the first half of 2018, even as the bitcoin price has sunk more than 67 percent from its all-time high. Draper, as CCN reported, has predicted that the bitcoin price will reach $250,000 by 2022, a far cry from the estimated $650 per coin that he paid in 2014 when he won nearly 30,000 BTC from the US Marshals Service in the famous Silk Road auction.  Speaking with financial publication TheStreet, Draper said that the recent market downturn has not caused his confidence in that forecast to waver. “Price-wise, we’ll continue to see Bitcoin move higher. I’ve revised my estimate up to $250,000 four years out, so we’ll see Bitcoin trade around the $250,000 mark in 2022.” Draper said that he is basing this bet on the expectation that cryptocurrencies — he’s invested in more than just bitcoin — will “increase the velocity of money” such that th...

BITCOIN Why We're Seeing Bitcoin Price Predictions of $100,000 and Higher

Bitcoin price predictions  of $100,000 or more have become increasingly common over the past year. That may have seemed absurd a year ago, when the price of Bitcoin was just $1,200. But now, a Bitcoin price of $100,000 is more than just a dream. In fact, an increasing number of experts are convinced it will happen. Saxo Bank global macro strategist Kay Van-Petersen thinks it could happen as early as the end of 2018 due to the inflow of institutional money. "We'll get a cascade of ETFs, mutual funds and other investment vehicles breaking out," he told  Bloomberg  in December. Van-Petersen is no stranger to bold Bitcoin predictions. In December 2016, when Bitcoin was trading at $750, he predicted it would rise to $2,000 within a year. The Bitcoin price hit $2,000 less than six months later. Olga Feldmeier, CEO of the fintech firm Smart Valor, also has a $100,000 target BTC price, although there's a slightly longer time frame. Feldmeier suggested that a...

3 Anonymous Cryptocurrencies Identified Secure For Cybercriminals

A new report on the global economic impact of cybercrime has named three cryptocurrencies that provide greater security to cybercriminals and help them evade policing. Cryptocurrency is proven to be the favored currency for darknet marketplaces, with cybercriminals taking advantage of its pseudonymous nature and decentralized organization to conduct illicit transactions, demand payments from victims, and launder the proceeds from their crimes. In order to avoid identification risks involved in Bitcoin transactions, a number of alternative anonymous cryptocurrencies have been developed on dark net markets. The three most popular today are Dash, Monero, and Zcash, says the report, based on a study conducted jointly by computer security giant McAfee and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Cybercriminals are looking for even better security by using an emerging new marketplace called OpenBazaar, warns the report titled "The Economic Impact of Cybercrime...
